Andy Goldsworthy Inspired Berry Photo Shoot

So a tree fell down in our yard after some bad storms here in Nashville. Of course, my handy husband insisted that we remove said tree ourselves. It was 6 grueling hours of chainsawing, using our 87 Chevy Rape Van to uproot the rest of the tree and obviously, finding amazingly bright colored berries and taking about a thousand photos of them.

The color gradients were so perfect.

"The Beetlejuice" - Nail Design

Because I can't help it. I have slacked off since school has started on my 'designing'....being an art teacher really chews up your hands and I can't make anything last...so spending an hour decorating my nails seems unfruitful now. Curse you career!

I call this one "the Beetlejuice".

Here's another summer nail design that I have yet to post:

Thrifting

I am addicted to thrift stores. There. I said it. Clearly my husband knows this...and he supports my addiction because hey, it's a cheap thrill that is entertaining and useful. I have seriously cut back on the amount of product I actually bring home nowadays. My summer trick has been to photograph things that are simply too amazing not to be documented for the world to see. If I can't have it physically, then I'll at least savor the item for free by taking a photograph. That way this item can be mine in some sense. This technique is kind to your bank account, mind you.
Half of a girl in a picture frame..

Amazing boots...

Amazing bag...why didn't i buy this for 8 dollars? I don't know. Because I'm stupid I guess. Would have made a great merch bag for my musical friends. The one that got away.

Old Photographs from 1920

We were looking through photos from the 20's the other day....amazing.

"Fuselage" on Gallatin Pike

New East Nashville store...this place has so many unique pieces. Such a great find.
Here's a link to a news story about the place:

I really want that phone.
